HND in Business Management

Our BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) programme delivers the essential understanding and practical skills for success in business life. The program aims to:

Sharpen cognitive skills, critical thinking, analysis and synthesis, problem solving and decision making abilities.
Provide the core skills for business reporting, including communication and numeric skills.
Develop people skills including negotiating, team-building, leadership and self-management capabilities.

On successful completion of the HND Business Management, students can progress onto the Final year of the Bachelor of Business Management (Hons) degree at Coventry University (UK).
All 16 modules are assessed by projects and written assignments. There are no formal examinations but some modules contain in-class tests. Students are also taught employability and life skills to ease their transition from classroom to the workplace.

This practical and intensive programme allows you to gain an internationallyrecognized business qualification in just 24 months. Successful students mayprogress to Year 3 BA (Hons) Business Management. Teaching / Assessment:

Methods will include lectures, directed private study, practical workshops and seminars. All methods are fully supported by academic staff who will use various teaching methods in developing and enabling vocational competence.

Assessment for each module will include coursework such as assignments, reports, case studies, mini-projects, presentations, in-class tests and open book time constrained examinations.

Assessment methods used will be varied but all will contribute to the development of evidence to support the attainment of learning outcomes as specified in the unit specifications. Assessments will seek to develop knowledge, skills and application.

To be recommended for the BTEC HND Diploma award you will be required to pass all assessment elements.

Learning Support:

Our dedicated and experienced teaching team conduct lectures, smaller group tutorials, workshops or computer laboratory sessions support the lectures. The range of modules in Business, Management, Accounting, Marketing, and Human resources means we use a variety of teaching formats. A tutorial may involve:

  • researching a group task/project;
  • giving a talk about something you have worked on; or
  • discussing a case study.

There are lots of interactive elements and we encourage you to put your own thoughts and ideas forward.
